Warrant = Order for Arrest (aka OFA)
If there is a warrant out for your arrest, then that means the Police have the authority to arrest you and book you in jail.
What causes an “OFA” or “Order for Arrest?”
If you missed a court date, then the Judge might issue a “Failure to Appear” and issue a warrant for your arrest. In North Carolina, a warrant is also called an “Order for Arrest” or “OFA.” An OFA can also result from a probation violation or if you are suspected of committing a crime.
If the police arrest me for the warrant, then will I be issued a bond to get out of jail?
Depending on the terms of the warrant, you might not get a bond. If that happens, then your next step would be to request a bond hearing.
What if I can’t afford to pay the bond?
Then you would need to request a bond hearing.
How do I get the “OFA” removed or lifted?
Option 1:
Turn yourself into the jail.
